For the most part licensed brokerages typically receive a commission off the top of the purchase price once the vessel has been sold.

The industry's common commission is based on a percentage although all fees may be negotiable.

There is no regulation on what commission is to be paid out by the listing agent. Traditionally we see commissions at 10%.

When the same broker that lists the yacht also finds the buyer, they will then receive the entire commission.

Yachts are placed on a multiple listing service platform and if a different broker finds a buyer, then the commission is split between both brokerages.
